KAARP is a creative studio for textile art and fiber installations, born on the Romanian banks of the Danube, where rope has always been a familiar object. We, however, wanted to give rope a new mission: to transform it into an art craft—an object that, when placed in contemporary spaces, brings a pure, natural, and harmonious vibration.
All our creations are unique, 100% handmade, and stem from ancient spiritual and mystical motifs, reinterpreted in a contemporary spirit, because any tradition can only stay alive if it rhymes with our current lifestyle.
The artistic practice of our studio started from elements familiar to living by the riverbanks—tension, rhythm, vibration, and healing fluidity. We work with mixed, natural, and synthetic textile materials and explore their response to force, humidity, and gravity.
